VOLUNTEER BOND INFORMATION
The benefits of volunteering are enormous to you, your family, and our hockey community.
Volunteering can introduce you to new people.
Can learn new skills or enhance your current skills.
Our children will see how volunteering can make a difference.
It can feel great to help others. You are supporting an activity that your child loves.
Remember: If you don’t see an opportunity that you are currently familiar with, please consider trying a ‘new' activity. You may just find a new passion through trying something new!!
Purpose
Encourage Association members to become actively involved in the operation and SUCCESS of Southwest Hockey.
Overview
Many of our members are unaware of how much volunteer work and fundraising is necessary to operate a quality hockey program. The Volunteer Bond Program was introduced in the 2015/2016 season as part of the amalgamation; to encourage members to come forward and help out. The time commitment is reasonable and the help is beneficial and appreciated!!
Participation in this program is mandatory of registration with SW and in no way does it exclude families from volunteering with their player’s team.
Value of Bond
$350.00 per family for our Community Program & $200 per family for House League. It is EACH FAMILY’S OWN responsibility to ensure they meet the program commitment and to ensure they report their credits to the Director of Volunteers.
Note:
- If you have a child playing in both the Community Program and House League Program, you MUST fulfill the Volunteer Bond requirements for the Community Program.
Deadline to submit the Volunteer Bond Credit Form is FEBRUARY 15 of the current season.

SW is eligible for an AGLC Casino every two years on average. Dates, details and volunteer opportunities will be provided once the Association receives their assignment.
The raffle is an important fundraiser for the association. It allows SW to offset ice costs that would otherwise have to be paid through registration fees. By raising money through Casinos and Raffles, the Association can keep fees reasonable and keep fee increases to a minimum, while still providing a quality hockey program for our players. Stay tuned for information on dates, details and volunteer opportunities.
Our Association would not exist without the efforts of our Volunteers!!
There are many deserving people and each year we are proud to be able to recognize some of you for your contributions!
